Residents may have noticed that there was a landslide at the slope behind Midvale Village last Saturday, 7th June 2008 when the black rainstorm warning signal was hoisted in the morning.

Hong Kong Resort has immediately appointed a consultant for a site-inspection to assess the damages. Since the landslide location is over 200 meters away from the nearest residential block and that a natural valley in between can act as a natural barrier to prevent damages to building blocks, it is advised that the landslide causes no immediate danger to the public.

While the consultant is working on further remedial measures and permanent recommendations, City Management will conduct daily monitoring on the landslide location for public safety.
